The new judges started today at 242. Bill Anderson, white male, a longtime criminal defense lawyer took over for Ann Pugh in General Sessions Criminal 7. Bobby Carter , white male, a longtime state prosecutor takes over for John Colton in Criminal Court 3. Bobby was most recently affiliated with the Memphis Sexual Assault Resource Center. Chris Turner, white male, defeated incumbent Lee Wilson for General Sessions Criminal 10, the domestic violence court. Chris was the General Sessions Civil Clerk and was not practicing law. Reportedly, he has no criminal law experience.
